Happy Holidays!

Hi all.

The Christmas season is in full swing. Xmas trees, decorations, Christmas do’s, pantomime are just a few of the activities I know we must have been involved in getting us into the Christmas spirit. Adults and children love this time of year. There’s something special about the warmth of and love felt from a total stranger fighting you for the last WWE John Cena wrestling action figure in an late night ‘Toy r Us’ dash!!!!

This week I was treated to watching two new budding actors home their skills. I attended both the infants and junior Christmas production at my children’s school. I must say I was awfully proud of my youngest that played an adorable reindeer and my eldest whom played the wizard from the wizard of OZ. All the children did a fantastic job; it brought back fond childhood memories of my school plays……Alas those were the days.

December has been a busy month for me and a lot of students studying at the university.  There are those of us with assignments due just before Christmas and those with assignments and exams at the beginning of January. It will all be worth it as being released into the Christmas freedom will be a beautiful thing!! I plan to enjoy the holidays; party, eat drink and be merry, rest and spend quality time with my family. I will try to rain in my festivities and remember that I fall into both of those above categories with deadlines before and after the holidays L

I wish everyone a Happy Holiday and Prosperous New Year. x

My trip to Bluewater’s Christmas Winter Wonderland :)

Hi all

I hope all is well.

I recently spent the evening at the Bluewater’s Christmas winter wonderland. Much to my sons delight they had miniature golf, Santa’s grotto and the dreaded ice skating amongst other great activities, games and stalls. I was under the idea that I was an avid skater in my younger years, boy was I WRONG!  It was hilarious watching my partner and children wiz around the rink, fall even ( I know I’m terrible to laugh, especially at my own!) but not as fun to land directly on my bum. Oh and the pain, my feet hurt like crazy. I don’t remember the skates being that painful. After a tentative seven minutes on the ice I safely and pain freely sat on the sides enjoying the scene. I can safely say I will not being skating anytime soon.

University is good. Lectures have been gearing towards assignment support and exam revision classes. I have found them very useful.

Still a few weeks away from Christmas and I have still yet to put up the Christmas tree, god help me! My sons will not let it rest and I don’t expect them to either. I remember being an excited child at this time of the year. Gosh my brothers, cousins and I were awful…..opening corners of presents n cello tapping them back up (you know we all done it) the suspense killed us. I remember as a child finding my dad on the sofa on Christmas morning annually. As kids we were told he was there protecting the presents under the tree from burglars, this went on for years and us as kids we innocently believed this story. It was only two years ago when reminiscing about Christmas as a child with my brother we rationalised that in actual fact my dad was watching the turkey or/and other meats cooking overnight in the oven in preparation for Christmas dinner!!! (More fool us!) So I can completely understand the constant nagging from my boys. I am not a kill joy; I understand the magic and excitement of children at Christmas. I plan to put it up as soon as the week is over and the blessed weekend arrives.

Be good guys, if you can’t be good then be safe, drinking and driving over the holidays and in general can kill.

Deuces.
