Just call me the Bookworm

Hey all.

School is finally out for the summer. It is now July and schools have broken up for the beloved summer six weeks.

I will be working over the summer but plan to enjoy every weekend and free day the sun has to offer. I will be working on a full time basis whilst I’m not studying over the summer term. I have recently secured a role as senior admin assistant throughout clearing 2015. I am really excited and welcome the added responsibility within the enquiry team and cannot wait to officially start, the extra money will be bonus too!

I am currently reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. It is well written and the story line has me captured. I am a reader by nature and I can be found huddled at my desk (when quiet, no I am not skiving!) bed, sofa, lunch break and bathroom fully engrossed in a book. I would rather read a good book than watch the TV. Luckily we have a great selection of books within our office book exchange that I will definitely be utilising. I have kind off shied away from paperback books since I downloaded the Kindle reading app (onto my iPad, tablet, children’s tablet and mobile phone). I would hate to be without it or have the battery die on one of the devices outside of the house!

We have had so much cake in the office these past week, I confess I am weak for chocolate cake!! A colleague that has graduated brought in a mammoth chocolate cake that was uber delicious.

I must say I am super proud of all my fellow student colleagues that have and that will be graduating this summer and autumn. I know you guys have worked hard and that your degree signifies this. I commend you on all of your hard work. Well done guys :)

Until next time. Xxx

Feeling hot, hot, hot!

Hope all is well.

I have been enjoying the warm weather and I hear that a heat wave is making its way!

I have spent my days off enjoying an iced cocktail in my garden it is still in the beginning stages of being renovated but that could not stop me from laying out and chillaxing in the sun.

We recently welcomed a new family member into our home; Smudge is a 4 month old black and white cutie of a kitten. She is quiet one who loves attention and seems to be besotted with my sons. Probably as they sneak food to her. This morning I woke up to find my youngest trying to temp her with a piece of uncooked bacon, I had to laugh that he would give the cat my hard earned bacon!!!!!

Clearing at the university is about to begin so the enquiry unit has been very busy preparing it alongside the open day that we held on Saturday 4th July. Clearing is a UCAS service that allows applicants to contact HE providers directly to see if they still have vacancies. If they do, and they can be made an offer, the applicant can add it as a choice on UCAS. It is a very busy time for all involved and can be very intense also. It however is a very rewarding time as you can say that you have personally helped an applicant reach their maximum potential by helping them to gain a place on their chosen course. I have also applied for senior assistant so fingers crossed, I mean who doesn’t want extra money, saving for a wedding and all that!

Until next time,

Sade. xxxx
